Transborders Energy (TBE) Managing Director, Daein Cha, presented at the 2019 SEAAOC Conference (Darwin, Australia) on the topic of “Development of the LNG market and its impact on NT gas markets”.
Through a panel discussion among industry veterans, Daein presented that, “while there is expected to be 80 to 220 million tons per annum (MTPA) of additional LNG demand to be met by 2030 via new projects, there is 845 MTPA of newly proposed LNG projects, many targeting mid-2020s to bring online. Competition for LNG demand is intense.”
Within this context, Daein presented that “For new Australian LNG project to successfully reach Final Investment Decision, we must differentiate our value proposition. Low cost projects are a given. We need to emphasise our key differentiators, introduce new structures and partnerships, and provide strategic rationale for LNG Buyers to underpin the project.”
“TBE’s FLNG Solution provides a pre-engineered one point three (1.3) MTPA FLNG facility with a package of streamlined commercial arrangements and a robust regulatory approval execution plan to gas resource owners. TBE’s FLNG Solution can convert a range of stranded gas resources into ‘project sanction (FID) ready’ state within 24 months after deployment, while also allowing LNG buyers access to competitive LNG supply sources.
TBE deploys its FLNG Solution with its strategic partners Kyushu Electric Power, other world class LNG buyers, TechnipFMC and Add Energy.
TBE’s FLNG Solution development work is also designated as a “Major Project” from the Australian Federal Government.
SEAAOC is Northern Australia’s largest and longest established petroleum conference and brings together major players involved within Australasia’s oil, gas and petroleum industries.
